Orthodontic benefits have become an increasingly popular dental insurance benefit. Orthodontic benefits are usually paid as a lifetime benefit (i.e., when you have achieved a certain dollar amount, you have no further benefit under the plan). They usually have a 50% co-pay (i.e., to achieve a $1.00 payment by the insurance company toward the treatment fee, $2.00 must be billed by the orthodontist).
